BIGCNC - small update

I made some small progress in building Z axis for new CNC. Sprocket on ball nut installed, holder for step motor installed.

Sprockets

Hi all,

I have to get almost 11 sprockets to my BIGCNC. Two of them will be big (48 and 36 tooth). I decide to try to cut them myself. I found a script on Thingiverse (link) and create with it one HTD 3M and HTD 5M sprockets. With Cambam I convert STL to DXF and prepare files to cut. Each sprocket is made from two identical parts and put together with 4 screws.
This is what I receive. Assembled HTD 3M 20 tooth:

Plastic Z (for sale)

Hi,

I realized that I have a lot pieces of plastic, and some leftover parts from CNC. So I decided to build some small Z axis, that will be sold.
Technical parameters:
- supported rails 12 mm with 4 linear bearings
- Tr 10x2 screw with brass nut
- 0,4 Nm motor with direct connection to screw
- spindle holder 43 mm ( for example: KRESS)
- about 95 mm of movement range
It is still not finished as I do not have two ball bearings, that will be used to place screw, and I have to clean it up. But it will be done soon.

Table micro saw

Hi all,

In my workshop I have always some Plywood or MDF leftovers after cutting from plates on CNC. It can be used later, but you have to store it. Those leftovers are usually big and I am a little bit "lazy" one guy to cut them manually. So I took some time and search web for an inspiration, and found one. Micro Table Saw was my inspiration. And this is how I build one myself:

FUTURE

Slowly I am preparing to move out. CNC from MDF was sold last week. I hope new user will be contented with it. I am building new shelfs to workshop because I was using owner of the place furniture to store my stuff.

I made them from dust board (18 mm ) and prepare to use bunch of box that I am using. They are really heavy.
 In plans there was some new CNC. I can not decide what to do (big plotter or small mill), but there was something that helped me to make decision. Wooden RACK box, that is used to send PC equipment was lying around in company that I am working. So I decide to use it. I will write about it more info soon.

Stuff I made

Hi all

Last days were very productive. I made some new equipment to my workshop. I will try to present all stuff I made, and try to put files that was used to made it.

Today only photos.
Syringe pump for glue to new 3D "printer"(more info soon). Stepper motor (0,7 Nm) with 1/8 micro-step (Motorola chip), internal generator on 555, frequency regulated by potentiometer. There is a possibility to us external control from PC (standard driver signals are STEP, ENABLE, DIR ), 12V power supply needed.

4th axis to new CNC that will be made in the beginning of next year (more info soon). Stepper motor 1,2 Nm, gear ratio 1:29.
